Originally built in the 1980’s, South 32’s Worsley Alumina operations was Australia’s most expensive capital project at that time, costing $1.2 billion and employing 3500 people. Over the past three decades, production has increased four-fold making it one of the larget and lowest-cost Alumina producers in the world.
In late 2016, C.E.M. Alliance successfully won the tender to complete building refurbishment works to the Facility 150 Male and Female Change Rooms.
A complete overhaul was undertaken demolishing the original interior removing brick walls, tiling, internal showers and toilets, bench seats, cabinetry, plumbing and electrical bringing the change rooms back to a bare shell.
A complete refurbishment was then delivered on schedule and within budget in accordance with the Architectural Drawings and Specifications and WAPL Safety Regulations.
The complete refurbishment included:-
- Traffic Management around the site
- Electrical Chasing
- Installation of Plumbing Fixtures and Fittings
- Testing and Inspection
- Interior and Exterior painting to walls, columns, doors & windows
- Tiling to wet areas
- Cabinetry provision and installation
- Furnishings including lockers and bench seats
- Smoke alarms and fire safety controls
